Electronics Overview
Electronic Equipment applications offer several opportunities to take advantage of the specific properties of composite materials.
As electronic equipment packs more power and capability into smaller and smaller printed circuit boards (PCB's), the PCB manufacturing process itself has enlisted the unique properties of composite materials as carrier boards. In addition, composite materials serve as electrical insulation in transformers, heat shields, dielectric barriers, and related applications. Also, composite electro static dissipative (ESD) materials help combat the destructive nature of corona discharge in electronic manufacturing environments.
